Tokyo Solo Trip: Ramen, Job Change Meetup, and Managing Expectations

You can hear the voice recording for the diary.

Before my Shinkansen commuter pass to Tokyo expired, I went to Tokyo alone.

The purpose of today’s visit was to host a meet-up about job changes and enjoy my favorite Jiro-style ramen at Butayama.

Holding the meet-up alone would have felt like a waste of time, but visiting Tokyo gave me the chance to do things I wanted to do, and I chose to eat ramen. I made the decision to go to the ramen shop because I know I truly love ramen in the end.

Although only one person initially signed up for my meet-up, five members ended up attending, and we had a wonderful time together. As with the last time, I didn’t receive any gratitude, but I might have misunderstood and thought that should be normal.

I may have had too many expectations for the attendees. I’ve already learned from reading a book that I shouldn’t expect too much from others, but I couldn’t put that into practice. I’m going to reflect on how not having expectations and doing what I want is better for my peace of mind.

To be continued.
