今日、エージェントから久しぶりに連絡が来た。てっきり新しい場所に移ったっていう近況報告かと思ったら、テスラの求人案内でびっくりした。
I heard from a recruiter out of the blue today. At first, I thought he was just reaching out to let me know he’d settled into a new location, but it turned out to be an unexpected job opportunity with Tesla.
しかもそれは、以前応募して落ちたことのあるスーパーチャージャー設置のポジション。仕事内容を見るとわたしの経験が完璧に活かせそうで、とても魅力的に思えた。
It was for the very same Supercharger installation position that I had applied for and been rejected from in the past. Looking at the job description, it really seemed like a role where I could fully utilize all of my experience.
ただ、今のわたしの目標は建設PMになること。この仕事は開発の要素が強くて、建設の割合が小さいから、キャリアパスと少しずれるのが悩ましかった。
However, my main career goal right now is to become a Construction Project Manager, and this role has a much stronger focus on the development side. This made me hesitate, as it wasn’t perfectly aligned with my desired career path.
少し迷ったけど、とりあえず応募してみることに決めた。もし内定をもらっても、その時に断ればいいだけだし、挑戦しないよりはいいと思ったんだ。
After thinking it over, I decided to just go for it and apply anyway. I figured that if I get an offer, I can always decide whether to accept it then, so there’s no harm in giving it a shot.
前回はダメだったけど、今のわたしの実力がどこまで通用するのか試してみたい。この挑戦がどんな未来につながっていくのか、なんだかワクワクする。
I may not have been selected last time, but I’m genuinely curious to see if my skills and experience are up to the challenge now. I’m excited to find out what kind of future this new opportunity might lead to.
