昨夜は出張の帰りに盛岡によって、前職でお世話になった先生と食事をしてきた。
On my way home last night, I got off the Shinkansen at Morioka Station and had dinner with a teacher I met at a project site while working at my previous company.
新学期に向けて準備の真っ最中だという。てっきり春休みなので、そこまで忙しくないのかと思っていたら、完全に逆だった。いつも以上に、春休み明け後の準備で大忙しらしい。
He’s now incredibly busy preparing for the new school term. I had assumed he wouldn’t be too busy since the students are on spring vacation and he doesn’t have any lessons to teach. But it turned out to be the complete opposite. He actually has more to do than usual in preparation for the new term.
なんなら土日も関係なく仕事しているという。そういう人たちがいる一方で、うちの会社のようにのほほんと仕事している高給取りがいて、世の中不公平である。
He even confessed that he’s been working on weekends. Some people are working on their weekends, while others don’t take work seriously, even during regular hours, like some people at my current company. The world isn’t unfair, though.
ただ、この状況を嘆いていても始まらない。いえることは、そんな状況下でもがんばっている人がいるということ。そして、自分は恵まれた状況にあるということ。
In any case, complaining about the unfairness of the world doesn’t change anything. What I can say is that there are people who work seriously, even under difficult circumstances—and fortunately, I’m in a fortunate situation.
なので、この状況に負けず、もっと邁進していきたい。本業で年収が下がってしまった分、副業で稼げるようにする。短期的にではなく、長い目で見て稼げるようになる。
Therefore, I won’t become a loser and will continue to improve myself. Even if my annual income decreases, I plan to make up for it with my side hustles. To earn money from my side hustles, I’m focusing on a long-term plan rather than seeking the quickest solution.
