今の会社の上司と一緒に三田二郎本店に行ってきた。
I went to the shop that originated the Jiro-style ramen in Mita with my boss from my current company.
朝から営業しているので、1030に現地集合すると、すでに10名以上が並んでいた。
Since it opens in the morning, we arrived at the shop at 10:30, and there were already over 10 customers waiting in line.
早速、うちらも列に並んでみる。ラーメン屋なので回転は早いけど、待っている間、二郎特有のとんこつのニオイが鼻腔をつく。うちらは並んでいる間だけだからよかったけど、近くに住宅もあり、そこに住んでいる人からするとかなりキツイ。
Once we arrived, we joined the queue. Although the line moved quickly, since it was for ramen, we could smell the distinct tonkotsu aroma of Jiro the entire time while waiting. While we only smelled it while waiting in line, the nearby residents must constantly be surrounded by that strong scent, which I imagine could be tough for them.
20分ほど並んで着席、店内は黙々と作る店員のペースで、お客さんも全員が無言でラーメンを食べたり、ラーメンが来るのを待っている。小ラーメンにも関わらず、相変わらずの大盛。とはいえ、野菜は少なめの麺が多い。
After about 20 minutes in line, we finally got seats at the counter. Inside the shop, the only noise came from the staff making the ramen and customers eating. The customers waiting for their ramen just sat quietly without talking. I ordered the small ramen, but it turned out to be a large portion. The vegetables, however, were quite limited.
固めコールにも関わらず、食べてみると柔らかい。それに、卓上調味料はコショウしかない。なにより、ラーメンがとてもしょっぱい。なので、今日の二郎三田本店は、あくまで経験としておく。もう行かないかなと。これなら二郎系ラーメンのほうがおいしい。１つだけメリット上げるなら700円で食べられたこと。このご時世、ラーメンが700円で食べられるのは希少。
Although I requested the ramen to be served with hard noodles, mine came with soft noodles. Additionally, the only seasoning on the table was black pepper, and the ramen itself was very salty. I tasted the original Jiro-style ramen today, and I don’t think I’ll be coming back. I’d rather go to another Jiro-style ramen shop. The only advantage of visiting this shop is that you can have ramen for just 700 yen. In today’s world, finding ramen for less than 1,000 yen is quite rare.
