サンライズ号での帰り道。てっきり通路と同じ高さの平屋室だと思い込んでいたのに、案内されて驚いた、まさかの1階の部屋だった。ホームの景色がすごく近くに見える。
I’m on my way back on the Sunrise Express. I was so sure I had booked a main-level room, but to my surprise, I ended up in a cabin on the lower floor.
どうやら僕が予約したのはただのシングルで、平屋だと想像していた部屋はシングルツインという、完全に別物だったみたいだ。うっかり勘違いしてたな、ちょっと残念。
It seems I got things mixed up; I booked a standard Single, when the room I was picturing is actually a Single Twin. A silly but classic mistake on my part!
次は絶対に上の階か平屋の部屋に乗ってみたい。久しぶりにサンライズ瀬戸に乗れたのは良かったけど、仕事がある日の夜に乗るのはもうやめようと固く心に決めたんだ。
I definitely want to try an upper or main-level room next time. It was great to ride the Sunrise Seto again, but I’ve decided against taking it on a work night.
どうしても仕事のことが頭をよぎってしまって、ついパソコンを開きたくなる衝動に駆られてしまう。それでは、この特別な列車の旅という体験がもったいなさすぎるからね。
I just couldn’t fully disconnect. My mind kept drifting back to work, and I had this nagging urge to open my laptop, which totally spoils the magic of the trip.
だから今度は、仕事を一切持ち込まずに完全なプライベート旅行として乗りたい。そして、できれば瀬戸より出雲で、岡山からの時間を気にせずのんびりした旅を満喫したいな。
So, I’m determined my next ride will be a purely personal one. And I’d prefer the Izumo route over the Seto, to really enjoy a more relaxed journey from Okayama.

2号車・9号車: 1番、11番、12番（※1番は車椅子対応の部屋になっているよ！）
6号車・13号車: 1番、11番、12番（※ここは喫煙できる車両だよ！）
7号車・14号車: 1番
