Late-Night Mentoring, Leadership Challenges, and Refining Coaching Style

You can hear the voice recording for the diary.

I spent late into the night providing specific advice over the phone to a junior colleague who seemed unprepared for tomorrow’s meeting.

Although it isn’t strictly my responsibility, I felt compelled to reach out since he isn’t the type to proactively seek guidance from seniors.

I question if my energy is being used effectively, as I feel a distinct lack of “responsiveness” or growth from him despite my efforts.

This experience has highlighted the difficulty of mentoring, so I plan to study some books on leadership to refine my own coaching style.

To be continued.
