Morning Piggyback Rides, Parental Struggles, and a Child’s Innocent Smile

You can hear the voice recording for the diary.

At my son’s insistent request, I gave him a piggyback ride all the way to kindergarten this morning, but carrying his growing weight for 15 minutes pushed my arms to their absolute limit.

I was short of breath and had to pause frequently to stop my arms from cramping, yet he remained blissfully unaware of my physical struggle, beaming with a smile from ear to ear the entire time.

However, seeing that innocent joy made me let my guard down; I couldn’t help but smile back, filling me with a surprisingly warm and positive feeling to start the day.

Since morning drop-offs allow for a swift return without any waiting, I realized that these parenting moments—while physically demanding—are actually quite rewarding.

Looking at my schedule, tomorrow seems manageable, so if the weather permits, I think I might make the effort to take him again just to see that smile.

To be continued.
