You can hear the voice recording for the diary.
I was really craving Jiro-style ramen tonight, but I also wanted to save on daily expenses. So, I decided to cook it at home and headed to the supermarket for ingredients.
I grabbed noodles, soup, vegetables, and pork. When I got to the cashier, the total cost exceeded 1,000 yen, and I was surprised.
Before that moment, I’d believed cooking ramen at home would be much cheaper than eating out at a ramen shop. However, it turned out to be almost the same price, and I realized that if you factor in preparation time, clean-up, and utility expenses, cooking at home might actually be more costly.
Of course, the advantage of cooking myself is being able to customize it to my liking, like adding extra vegetables or hot sauce.
Even though it was pricier than I expected to cook it at home, I’ll definitely reflect on this for my next ramen decision.
To be continued.
