Enjoying Tsukemen at Butayama, a Hot Eye Mask Nap, and a Productive Evening

You can hear the voice recording for the diary.

Yesterday, after my treatment, I headed straight to my favorite ramen shop, Butayama, for some Jiro-style ramen, just as I’d planned.

Since they’d started their seasonal tsukemen (dipping noodles), I chose it without hesitation. I briefly wondered if I should order extra noodles, but in the end, I stuck with the regular size, as usual. Honestly, before the treatment, I would have definitely gone for the extra noodles. However, it was already past 4 PM, and I still had tasks to do after ramen, so I passed on the larger portion.

After finishing my meal, a few thoughts came to mind. Their tsukemen is awesome! More than anything, the best part for me is how easy it is to eat the vegetables first. Unlike regular ramen where you have to mix everything around, with tsukemen, you can just dip the vegetables in the soup and add seasonings like chili and black pepper.

Also, while I’m enjoying the vegetables, the noodles don’t get soggy because they’re separate from the soup. I could eat the vegetables at my own pace and then savor the noodles afterward. Eating the noodles after finishing the vegetables is truly my happy hour. It made me think I really should have ordered the tsukemen with extra noodles after all.

On my way home, I took a nap with a hot eye mask. The eye mask helped me fall asleep, which meant I was able to concentrate fully on my tasks in the evening. All in all, it was a good day.

To be continued.
