E3 Series Tsubasa, Nostalgia, and Adapting to Change

You can hear the voice recording for the diary.

Arriving at Tokyo Station, I noticed a crowd gathering around the “E3 Series Tsubasa”—sporting its revival livery—which is now on the verge of retirement.

I joined the enthusiasts to snap a few commemorative photos and, feeling a wave of nostalgia, boarded this classic train for perhaps my final journey home on it.

While modern Shinkansen feature elongated noses for aerodynamics, I still believe this sharp, angular profile defines the true “coolness” of a bullet train.

It is somewhat melancholic to see familiar designs vanish amidst technological progress, yet this is an inevitable passage of time that we must accept.

Just as the old gives way to the new, I realize I must not cling to past preferences but rather adapt my sensibilities to the changing times.

To be continued.
