Using Smartphone Alerts for Real-Time Self-Reflection and Goal Alignment

You can hear the voice recording for the diary.

I came across a fascinating method in a book today: setting smartphone alerts with “questions for yourself” to trigger self-reflection throughout the day.

In the past, I only pondered philosophical questions during my morning or evening routines, but I never had the chance to stop and think while in the thick of work.

By setting an alarm that asks, “Is what I’m doing right now truly what I want to be doing?” I can force myself to pause and realign with my core values, even for just five minutes.

This approach is incredibly practical because it interrupts the daily grind and compels me to evaluate my actions in real-time, ensuring I don’t lose sight of my ultimate goals.

I’m going to reread the relevant sections of the book tonight to master the technique and start implementing these “reflective alerts” tomorrow to elevate the quality of my day.

To be continued.
