Running, English Learning, and the Treadmill Monotony

You can hear the voice recording for the diary.

With my knee fully recovered, I resumed my running routine early this morning and clocked 7km on the gym treadmill.

Thanks to my improved physical stamina, I felt no exhaustion, but the sheer monotony of running in place became a mental struggle.

I attempted to watch Prison Break to pass the time, but I realized I simply lack the mental bandwidth to process English dialogue while exerting myself.

Since it wasn’t effective for studying, I decided to pivot: I will stick to engaging Japanese entertainment during runs to distract myself, and reserve English learning for walks when I can actually focus.

By strategically separating “entertainment” for high-intensity movement and “study” for low-intensity movement, I hope to make my workouts more sustainable and enjoyable.

To be continued.
