Resigning in 35 Paychecks: Reframing Work as Professional Development

You can hear the voice recording for the diary.

I have made a definitive decision to resign after receiving exactly 35 more paychecks, a conclusion sparked by a deeply disheartening incident at work yesterday.

Witnessing colleagues who were uninvolved in our project remain uncooperative—and even attempt to shift responsibility—made me recognize a fundamental lack of professional integrity.

Rather than dwell on this frustration, I have chosen to reframe my remaining tenure as a paid professional development period, essentially treating my work as on-the-job training.

Despite the recent salary cut, I will focus on enhancing my own expertise and take full initiative to steer our current internal projects in the right direction.

These final 35 months are an investment in my future self; I am committed to maximizing my growth and building a solid foundation for my next chapter.

To be continued.
