お墓参りにいった。祖母に長男が産まれたことを報告してきた。
We all visited my grandmother’s grave today to let her know that our baby was born.
産まれて以降、寒かったり忙しかったりで、いくことができずにいた。
We had not been there since he was born because we were busy and it was cold outside.
最近になって、暖かくなってきたので、混雑するお彼岸を避けて行ってきた。
Because it is getting warmer, we are able to visit there. We should have been there for Higan week but we weren’t able to because it was too crowded.
思っていた通り、ほとんど誰もおらず、ゆっくり掃除をして帰ってくることができた。
As we thought, there were few people there when we did go and swept the tomb.
来ようと思っても、なかなかいく機会がなかったので、やっと報告ができてよかった。
I felt at ease because I don’t have many opportunities to visit the grave which is about a 20 minute drive from my apartment.
