Solo Chanko Meetup, Community Challenges, and Longing for Abroad

You can hear the voice recording for the diary.

I attended my third Chanko-nabe meetup solo today, opting for a local train ride that provided a perfect opportunity for quiet reflection on the way.

However, I was troubled to hear that the community’s growth has sparked petty complaints regarding portion sizes and the inclusion of children in our gatherings.

To avoid becoming a target of such scrutiny, my immediate priority is to update my profile and mitigate any potential friction within this diversifying group.

This experience highlighted the somewhat restrictive atmosphere of society here, further fueling my long-standing aspiration to relocate to a more liberal environment abroad.

While navigating these societal nuances, I will remain focused on refining my personal presence and preparing for the day I can finally step into a wider, more open world.

To be continued.
