I had lunch with my assistant today.
Since we both had a meeting right after lunch, we left the office a bit early and went to a restaurant located at Takeshiba Pier, where we could enjoy a nice ocean view from our seats.
The restaurant sits right in front of the ferry terminal for Tokyo Bay cruises. Despite the great view, the prices were reasonable. We both ordered the daily special—beef short ribs—which came with a generous portion of both meat and rice. It was delicious and very satisfying.
I don’t get many chances to have lunch with her. Once I move to the new company I’m currently applying to, I’ll likely be eating lunch alone again. But this is the path I’ve chosen, and I have no regrets about the decision.
I don’t want to dwell on the past. I believe in the choice I’ve made and trust that it will lead me to my future goal. I’ll stay focused on my new role—with my sights set on working abroad in the near future.
To be continued.
