I went to the Tobu Train Museum in Higashi-Mukojima with my son.
On the way there, when we transferred to a local train at Ueno Station, the luxury cruise train Shikishima happened to be stopped at platform 13. It was my son’s first time seeing the train, and he was so excited to compare it with his toy version. He also noticed that the train had only one door for passengers to board and asked me about it—I could tell he was really paying attention.
After seeing the train off, we headed to the museum. I was surprised to find that the entrance fee was only 200 yen for adults and 100 yen for children. Maybe the price hasn’t changed since I was a child and visited there myself. The exhibitions also seemed largely unchanged.
We spent just about an hour walking through the museum, but even with the short visit, my son seemed to really enjoy the outing.
On our way home, we stopped by Marugame Seimen for lunch. As usual, we both fell asleep on the Shinkansen ride home.
To be continued.
