A Quiet Family Day and the Start of My FIRE Countdown

You can hear the voice recording for the diary.

It was a week of holidays interrupted by a single workday. Since my commuter pass had expired, I decided to spend the day with my family at our favorite park, where we can watch trains.

After playing and watching trains for a while, we went to Korakuen, a ramen franchise, for lunch. Even though we each ordered our own bowl of ramen, the total cost was only 2,200 yen, and the taste was great—we loved it. After lunch, we returned to the park to play some more before stopping by McDonald’s for dessert.

We each got a float with vanilla ice cream, and since it was my son’s first time having a carbonated drink, he absolutely loved it. We took a break, just the three of us, and enjoyed some peaceful family time.

After returning home, I checked my financial assets for the first time this year. This will serve as the baseline for the year. Thanks to the strong stock market, my assets have grown, and I aim to increase them even further this year.

This will be a patience-testing year on my journey toward FIRE (Financial Independence Retire Early). It’s no exaggeration to say that how much I can grow my assets this year will significantly impact how many years remain until I achieve FIRE.

To be continued.
