I had lunch with my colleagues.
Since we’ll be moving to a new office soon, we went to a restaurant near Tokyo Station that serves extra-large portions of pasta.
They offer 500g of pasta for 880 yen and 800g for 1,080 yen. I felt that 800g would be too much for me, so I chose the 500g portion with Bolognese sauce. I could have also chosen Napolitan pasta, but I thought I might not be able to finish it since it’s quite oily.
When the pasta arrived, it didn’t look as big as I expected, and once I started eating, it didn’t feel overwhelming at all. By the time I finished, I was just comfortably full. For me, the Jiro-style ramen from Butayama feels like a bigger challenge than this pasta, so I probably could have handled the 800g portion. Next time I visit the restaurant, I’m going to try the biggest size.
While we were eating, we talked about a colleague’s performance. I reflected on my own actions today because I had decided not to complain about anything. I promised myself that I wouldn’t complain about my colleagues.
To be continued.
