Train-Watching, Dipping Noodles, and One Last Outing Before Year-End

You can hear the voice recording for the diary.

Since my wife had a regular medical check-up first thing in the morning and our son had a slight cold, I took him to the clinic.

Thanks to arriving before they started seeing patients, his turn came quickly. The examination confirmed that it was just a cold, and I was relieved to hear that.

After the clinic, we went to Saitama-Shintoshin Station to watch the trains as usual. While the inbound Shinkansen wasn’t crowded, the outbound line was packed. I had assumed the congestion would only be bad on the first day of the year-end holiday, but I was wrong. As a result, we had to stand on the Shinkansen on the way back home. Still, it was a good experience of typical holiday-season travel.

After watching the trains, we had dipping noodles at our favorite ramen shop near the station—our last bowl of dipping noodles for the year. I never expected to come here so regularly, but my son really likes it. Despite being close to the station, the shop rarely has a long line, which is perfect for us. Visiting this ramen shop has become part of our routine whenever we go to watch the trains.

To be continued.
