You can hear the voice recording for the diary.
I attended a meet-up to eat hot pot made by an actual sumo wrestler.
It’s not every day you get the chance to enjoy hot pot prepared by a real sumo wrestler, even if you’re willing to pay for it, so I was excited from the moment I woke up.
At the meet-up, my role was to pick up the sumo wrestler from his stable using a rental car. I’d once seen some sumo wrestlers at a charity event held to raise money for earthquake relief in the Hokuriku region, but they didn’t interact much with the audience or make the event particularly engaging. Because of that, I was a bit worried about whether today’s wrestler might be difficult to approach. However, as usual, I was worrying over nothing. On the drive to the venue, we talked about sumo the entire time, and the conversation was lively and enjoyable.
Once we arrived and met up with the other members, the sumo wrestler started preparing the hot pot for us. He made a salt-based hot pot, which is apparently a popular flavor among sumo wrestlers, and we all loved it.
I ended up having five bowls because it was so delicious. Since I usually stick to a strict meal routine, I let myself indulge today, and it was an incredibly enjoyable experience.
To be continued.
