今日は、仕事に対する日本人らしい真面目さを持つカメラマンのお話。
Today’s topic is a photographer with a seriousness for work like the old Japanese people.
四季島では、専属のカメラマンがツアーに同行し、参加者の写真を収めてくれる。それこそ、お客が最後になるまで、夜はラウンジでお仕事をしていた。翌日も朝６時には展望室に姿を現し、参加者の表情をしっかり捉えていた。
During the Shiki-shima tour, there was a dedicated photographer accompanying the passengers. He stayed with us until the last person left the lounge car late at night and began taking pictures again at 6 am the next day in the observation car.
最も驚いたのは、ツアーを終えて戻ってきたときにビデオが作られていたこと。旅行の中で撮影した写真を編集し、作られていた。
Most impressively, he created a video using the photos he took during the tour.
いったい、いつ休んでいたのだろうと思う。わたしは、松本駅に停車している４時間しか寝てなかったけど、わたしよりも短いのではないかと思う。
I have no idea when he found the time to make the video or even rest. Although I only slept for four hours while the train was stopped at Matsumoto Station, his sleep must have been even shorter.
その仕事に対するマジメさは絶対に見習いたい。もちろん、一生懸命やっているけど、見えないところで努力する姿がとてもカッコイイ！
I want to learn from his dedication to his work. While I do focus on my tasks, it’s admirable to put in so much effort when no one is watching.
