Discovering Hidden Gems: A Culinary Adventure on the Business Trip

今日からまたサイトへの出張、今回は後輩を連れての輸送路調査。

I’m currently on a business trip with my reliable colleague, conducting a general transportation route survey for wind turbines at our project site. It’s his first time visiting the site with me.

 

お昼は、リベシティ岩手オフィスで紹介してもらった焼き肉屋へ。地元民こそ知るお店で、かなり赴きがあるお店。紹介されないと絶対に行かないぐらいの歴史がある。

During our journey, we decided to stop by a BBQ restaurant recommended by a friend from Libe City. The place had a charming atmosphere and was bustling with locals. I typically only visit eateries with strong recommendations from close friends, especially when they come with such a quaint ambiance.

 

さすが、公務員さまが紹介してくれるだけあって、味はとてもおいしかった。ランチだったこともあり焼き肉は豚肉で普通だったけど、冷麺が絶品だった。

As advised by a local government officer, the food did not disappoint. Despite it being lunchtime and the BBQ options limited to pork, the Korean cold noodles were absolutely delightful.

 

今までで最も太い麺がしっかり歯ごたえを主張しつつ、しょう油味強めのスープがよく合う。私好みのウマいやつだった。

The thick, chewy noodles paired perfectly with the robust soy sauce-flavored soup. It was exactly my kind of flavor combination, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

 

教えてくれた人に感謝。やはり、地元飯は地元の、かつ、優良企業や公務員に聞くのが一番。最高の旅のスタートになった。

I’m truly grateful to my friend for suggesting this hidden gem. It just goes to show that the best way to discover great local restaurants is by tapping into the knowledge of locals, especially those working at large companies or government offices. This dining experience marked a fantastic start to our business trip.
