やっと自主隔離から開放され自宅に戻ってこられた。
Finally, I was able to leave quarantine and return home.
なので、早速、息子と電車を見に行ってきた。久しぶりに２時間しっかり駅で電車を眺めていた。そして、いざ帰ろうとした矢先に、長男の大好きな貨物列車がやってきた。通り過ぎて改めて帰ろうとしたら、長男のトイレが間に合わずに粗相をしてしまった。
To celebrate, I invited my son to watch trains at the nearest station. We spent a good two hours there, the maximum allowed time with our station entrance ticket. Just as we were about to leave, his favorite freight train arrived at the station. We decided to stay and watch it, but unfortunately, in the excitement, he ended up peeing his pants.
どうやら、息子は帰ろうとしたときにトイレに行けば間に合う想定だったけど、貨物列車の登場により、その想定が狂ってしまい間に合わなかったよう。
He seemed like he would have made it if we had left the platform without watching the last freight train. However, I stopped him to watch it, and his expectations were dashed.
妻に電話したら、まだ家にいてズボンを持ってきてもらえることになったのでよかった。もし、帰るまでズボンもないとなると、風邪を引きかねなかった。
After the mishap, I called my wife, who was still at home, and she kindly brought a fresh pair of pants for him. We were fortunate that she was available to help; otherwise, he might have caught a cold from being in wet pants until we got home.
駅ビルのトイレで妻を待ち、ズボンをはき替えてみんなの昼ご飯を買って帰った。この前みたく、電車の中で立ち往生しているときの粗相じゃなくてよかった。
We then moved to a warmer bathroom in the station building to change his pants. Once that was sorted, we picked up some lunch from the supermarket and headed back home. I was relieved that his accident didn’t happen while we were on the train, like it did during previous incidents with train delays.
