I had the final study session with my senior because he will return to Japan next week.
Since this was the last session in a series that we started this spring, I wanted to discuss his thoughts on how I could make the most of my future life. This included his philosophy on being an ideal leader, negotiating for a higher salary, and working with an NPO to achieve my future goals.
He mentioned that the income can be quite limited when working as a member of Doctors Without Borders since the work is essentially voluntary. He recommended that I consider joining the team after reaching FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early).
I agreed with his perspective. Currently, I only have tasks on my bucket list, and these are all short-term wishes. I haven’t decided on what I want to do for an extended period. His recommendation was very insightful, and I’m confident that I’ll be able to enjoy my retirement life by pursuing the things I’ve always wanted to do and am interested in, including volunteer work with their team. This discussion helped me define my life after achieving FIRE more clearly than ever.
To be continued.
