ふと思い立ち、四季島について調べてみたら、来年春分のチケットの募集がかかっていたので、早速申し込みをした。
I suddenly had the idea to research Shikishima, one of the most luxurious cruise trains in Japan, and found that they are currently accepting applications for the next spring.
というのも、一度は乗ってみたいと思っている中で、このままだとチャンスを掴めないと思ったからである。
As I’ve always wanted to ride this cruise train at least once in my life, I realized that I need to take action to make it happen.
まずは、両親のどちらかと参加するのはありなのかと。正式に当選したら、誰と乗るかは考えるとして、応募してみないと何も始まらない。
For a start, I thought it would be a great idea to ride the train with one of my parents. I’ll reconsider my choice of companion once I secure the ticket. I can’t fulfill this wish without applying.
３泊４日と１泊２日の２つのコースが募集中であり、後者を予約した。これまで見てきたYouTubeの動画で、長いと肩が凝ってしまうようなことが書いてあったので、まずは短いほうから。
They offer two options, a cruise for four nights and one for just one night, and I decided to go for the latter. The reason behind this choice is that I watched a video on YouTube that suggested the longer trip might be a bit too formal for my taste. So, I’m going to try the shorter cruise as a beginning.
肝心の値段は、一人440,000円と破格であるものの、払えない金額ではないし、たまにはこういう使い方もいいのかな、と思う。貯めてばっかりではつまらない。
The cost of the trip is 440,000 yen per person, which is around 3,000 dollars. While it’s quite expensive, I believe that sometimes spending money on unique experiences can help alleviate the stress of saving money. Saving money is important, but having some memorable experiences along the way can make it more enjoyable.
