今日は来週からの出張について、コンサルティング会社に勤める友人に相談してみた。
I had a conversation with a friend who works at a consulting firm to discuss my upcoming business trip next week.
結果はお盆期間に訪問するなと大反対を食らった。たとえ、口調が厳しかったとしても、そんなこと社内では１人も言ってくれなかったし、むしろ、肯定されるくらいだったので、とてもよかった。
He strongly advised against my plan to visit the district leaders during the Obon period. While his tone was forceful, none of my colleagues had opposed my plan, and they were in agreement with me. Hearing his perspective before the trip was a relief.
また、地元で仲良くなった人にもダメ押しで確認したところ、それは止めたほうが正解だろうと。その代わりにお盆明けに地権者に知人がいるかを確認してもらえることになった。
As an extra precaution, I reached out to a person in the city who I get along with and who has local knowledge. He also echoed the consultant’s opinion, suggesting that we confirm the lists of landowners and leaders after the Obon period to see if any of them are his close friends.
やはり、社内の意見は全く参考にならないのが改めてわかった。なので、これからは自分が思うようにやってみようと思う。
This experience made me realize that I couldn’t always rely on my colleagues for advice. I’m determined to follow my instincts and proceed with my project as I see fit.
それでダメだったら自分の成長につながるし、会社でなにか言われようものなら辞めるのにちょうどいいタイミングにもなる。
If I encounter challenges or setbacks, I’ll view them as learning experiences. If my colleagues have complaints, it might be a sign that it’s time for me to consider a job change.
