初めての現場出張である。
I went on my first business trip with my company.
今日は調査のために使っている部品の回収と、その装置の使い方を実際の現場でレクチャーしてもらった。
The purpose of the trip was to remove equipment for the next site and learn how to use and maintain the datalogger from a senior team member.
駐車場からけもの道をひたすら上がっていくのかと思っていたが、そんなに県道からも離れておらず、10分程度しか歩かなかった。今日のサイトは、初めての現場出張にはちょうどよいサイトであった。
Initially, I had anticipated a long hike through the mountains, following an animal trail from the parking lots to the site. However, to my surprise, it only took us about 10 minutes to reach the location. It turned out to be a suitable site for my first business trip.
家に帰って終業時間まで今日の出張の整理をしていると、出張レポートの話がチーム内で出た。一緒にいった先輩からは、若手の見本となるようなレポートを作成して英語で発表してもらいましょう、と言われた。
When I got back home, I was discussing the trip with my team in our chat, and the topic of making a report came up. My senior colleague, who accompanied me on the trip, suggested that I should create and present the report as a good example for the junior members, and it should be in English.
周りの同僚からは、きっとジョークだよ、とは言われたが、冗談とはいえ、せっかくの機会なので、作ってみることにした。彼らの要求に応えられるか、どんなフィードバックがくるか、今から楽しみである。
While some of my colleagues may have seen it as a joke, I view this as a valuable opportunity for personal growth. I’m determined to make the report and meet their expectations. I’m also excited to hear their feedback and suggestions going forward.
