今日は電車が見える公園に長男と行ってきた。
I took my son to a park located alongside a railway line.
先日、鉄道博物館で電車を見たときから好きになった貨物をけん引する電気機関車が通るたびに、声をあげて喜んでいた。
He would scream in excitement every time his favorite electric locomotive passed by, as he became fond of it after seeing it at the railway museum last week.
公園にいる間に４回、その貨物列車が通ったが、その全てでとても嬉しそうにしていた。
During our time at the park, a total of four freight trains pulled by electric locomotives passed through, and my son enthusiastically waved at each one.
また、終始公園には誰もおらず、ずっと貸し切り状態で、滑り台やブランコなどの遊具も好きなタイミングで遊べた。なので、踏切が鳴って電車がくれば電車を見て、それ以外は遊具で遊んでと、こちらとしては、忙しい遊びになった。
What made the experience even better was that there were no other people at the park during our visit. We had the playground equipment all to ourselves, including slides and swings. We would watch the trains whenever the railroad crossing bell rang, and play on the equipment at other times. My son kept urging me to join in the fun.
ま、泣いているよりはずっとましなので、よかった。
It was a much more enjoyable experience than dealing with his cries.
