今日はこの英語日記を添削してくれている友人との一献。
Today, I met up with my Australian friend who helps me correct this English diary.
共通の友人に教えてもらった都内のお店で集まって飲んだ。
We had a great time enjoying delicious Japanese cuisine at a restaurant in Tokyo, recommended by our mutual friend.
だが、出張帰りの飛行機が遅れてしまい、会う前からアクシデント発生。お店を出るときもお土産に買ってきた肉まんの袋が壊れたり、最終の新幹線にわたしが乗るためにお店から駅まで走ってもらったり、ちょっと情けなかった。
However, I must admit that the day didn’t start off smoothly. I was late for our meeting due to a flight delay. To add to that, when we were leaving the restaurant, the plastic bag containing the pork buns I had bought as a gift for him broke, and we had to rush to the nearest station to catch the last Shinkansen train for my return. I felt disappointed in myself for these mishaps.
それでも、紹介してもらったお店でおいしい日本料理を食べながら情報共有ができてとても嬉しかった。
Nevertheless, I was genuinely happy to see my friend and spend time catching up with each other while savoring the tasty Japanese dishes at the recommended restaurant.
ぜひ、次もまた会えるように関係を続けていくとともに、いつか自分も彼と同じくらいのレベルで英語で話せるようになりたいと思った。
I value our friendship and hope to stay in touch, with the goal of meeting again and conversing as much as possible in English.
