When I talked to my mother, I heard that my friend’s father got arrested.
そのニュースは地元紙だけでなく、ネットニュースにも載っていて、検索すると見つけることができた。
As the news was published in a local newspaper and on the internet, I was able to find it.
自分の身近な人で警察沙汰になったのは初めてだったので、とても衝撃的だった。
I was very shocked since this was my first time being arrested for my close people.
その友人に連絡してみようとも考えたが、余計なことをして変に誤解されても嫌なので止めた。
Although I was going to contact the friend, I didn’t do it. I don’t want to make him misunderstand with my curiosity.
にしても、自分の身近にもそういったリスクがあることを改めて理解した。家族だけでなく、周りにも迷惑をかけるので、自分ごととして捉え、気を引き締めて行こうと思う。
Anyway, I recognised that there was this kind of risk close to me. If it happens to me, my family will get in trouble as well as my close friends. I will think of the clime as a personal problem.
