今日は都内の友人宅で開催されたクリスマスパーティーに招待された。
I attended a Christmas party held at my friend’s house in Tokyo.
みんな１品持ち寄りのポットラックパーティーで、わたしは出張帰りの大阪空港で購入した肉まんを持参した。ポットラックであることを事前に知らされてなかったので、持参してよかったとホッとした。
As this was a potluck party, I brought pork buns I bought at Osaka Airport on the way from my business trip. Actually, I wasn’t informed of the potluck rule, so I was relieved that I brought them with me.
もともと、英会話で知り合った友達から招待されてオンラインで何度かお会いしていたが、今回初めてF2Fで会うことができた。
I had seen the members at the potluck party from the online study sessions that I was invited by my friend who I met at an English conversation school. And finally, I was able to see them in person.
これまでは、どうしても外様感が否めなかったが、ようやくこれでメンバー入りを果たせたと思う。
It was undeniable until today that I was a guest, however, I was able to join their group.
来年からは正式メンバーとして、交友関係を広げて行けたらと思う。
As a member, I would like to build my network with them.
