寝台特急のサンライズ出雲号に乗っての小旅行である。
I went on a trip to Izumo-city alone by a sleeper train called the ‘Sunrise Izumo’.
夜に自宅を出るのはエジプト出張以来であり、車内からの風景で海外出張を思い出した。
I haven’t left my house at night ever since a business trip to Egypt, so the night scenery from the train reminded me of my previous business trips.
同時に、家を離れる寂しい感じもした。
I also felt lonely when I left my house.
久しぶりの寝台特急の車内はというと、かなり快適である。
I haven’t ridden on a sleeper train since I was a high school student and felt comfortable on it.
ただ、思っていた以上にスピードを出すので、揺れが大きいのと、換気扇のファンがうるさくて夜はあまり眠れなかった。
However, the train went faster than I thought. I wasn’t able to sleep well during the night due to the train’s vibration and the noise from an exhaust fan in my room.
飛行機で寝ることがなくなってしまったので、自宅の快適なベッドでの睡眠に慣れてしまい、環境が悪い場所で寝るのが難しくなってしまった。
I was confident about sleeping in bad environments such as an economy class on aeroplanes when I had been to Egypt. But now I’m used to sleeping in my comfortable bed in my house.
