週に一度の出社日ということもあり、誕生日を過ぎても煮えきらない妻に対し、ケーキを買って帰った。
Today is my weekly office workday and I bought a cake for my wife’s birthday on the way home. Even though her birthday has already passed, she hasn’t told me what she wants. So, I bought it without her consent.
結局、都内では決まらず地元の駅で購入したが、私が思ってくれた以上に喜んでくれた。
As a consequence, I got it at the nearest station to my house. She looked happier than my expectation.
しかも、ケーキが予想以上にウマい。
In addition, the cake was much tastier than we thought.
先日、1ピース3,000円のケーキの話をしたが、それが買えなくてもケーキを十分に楽しむことができた。
We enjoyed celebrating her birthday even though we couldn’t afford the cake which cost ¥3,000 we talked about before.
妻も喜んでくれたようなのでよかった。
Anyway, I was relieved because she looked happy.
