I had my first-round interview with a company I recently applied to.
It’s a Japanese company I’ve been considering for a while, and the role is a Construction Manager on the manufacturer’s side. The interview process was very traditional, typical of Japanese companies, and to be honest, my first impression wasn’t great.
The interviewer, who would be my future boss, seemed like someone who wouldn’t sugarcoat things on the job. However, this role presents a great opportunity for me to return to the construction field, which I’ve been wanting to do. Plus, working for a manufacturer would be a solid step toward entering the wind industry, a field I’m eager to get into.
Luckily, I passed the first round. Within just two hours after the interview, I received the good news from the company through my recruitment consultant. The speed of their decision-making was quite different from a typical Japanese company—it felt more like a venture culture.
Now, I’m wondering if I’ll be able to secure the position or if another challenge awaits. According to the interviewer, there are still two more interview rounds ahead, so I’ll do my best.
To be continued.
