Valentine’s Day Meet-Up: Too Crowded, Too Dull, and Not So Kid-Friendly

You can hear the voice recording for the diary.

I attended a meet-up with my son at the Libe City Saitama Office.

Today’s meet-up was organized as a chocolate exchange event in celebration of Valentine’s Day. We brought chocolates that we had won from a claw machine two days ago.

I thought we had brought enough chocolates to share with the other members, but in the end, the total amount of chocolates didn’t really change. Although the original purpose of the meet-up was to exchange chocolates, we ended up spending most of the time just chatting with each other.

Also, almost all of the attendees came alone. Only a few, including myself, brought their children, but in hindsight, I don’t think it was the right event for kids. Fortunately, I was able to talk a little with other parents who had brought their children, but that was about the only meaningful part of the meet-up for me.

Since my son got bored and sleepy during the event, we left in the middle of it. Honestly, I didn’t find it to be a great opportunity. As a friend had warned me before, meet-ups with a large number of attendees tend to be dull, and this was the second time I truly felt that to be the case.

To be continued.
