帰りのサンライズ号に乗る前、高松にて、前職での海外研修で知り合った先輩との食事会。
Before leaving Takamatsu on the Sunrise train, I met up with a friend I had met during an overseas business training session at my previous company.
５年ぶりの再会に、連絡しようか迷っていたけど、連絡して正解だった。久しぶりにもかかわらず、とても話が弾み、とても楽しい時間になった。
This was our first time seeing each other in five years, and I had been unsure whether to contact him right before my business trip, but I’m glad I did. Even though we hadn’t met in such a long time, we quickly got into a conversation and really enjoyed our reunion.
また、高松名物のうどんで夜しかやってないカレーうどんや、最近売り出し中の骨付き鳥、お酒のおつまみである醤油豆、一通り紹介してくれ、グルメツアーにもなった。
He even took me on a gourmet tour, where we had curry udon, a famous dish served only at night, bone-in chicken promoted by the city, and soy sauce flavored with beans.
先輩との会話も、出会ったシンガポールの話から、その後のお互いの家族などに話が広がり、とても楽しい時間になった。
We reminisced about the business training session we attended in Singapore and caught up on each other’s lives since then. It was great to reconnect.
ホントにたくさんのもてなしをしてくれた先輩に東京から手土産を持参して正解だった。アシスタントに紹介してもらったチョコレートは、先輩家族にも気に入ってもらい、持参したかいがあった。
It was definitely a good decision to bring him a gift to thank him for his hospitality. My assistant recommended high-quality chocolate, and his family loved it. It was definitely worth bringing.
