今日から子供が自転車デビュー。
My son made his debut riding a bicycle.
初めてではペダルを使って走れないので、足漕ぎで進めるようにストライダーでの練習。
Since he’s just learning to pedal, his bike is a Strider, which doesn’t have pedals—riders move around using their feet instead.
近くの自転車屋で点検してもらって、そこから公園での練習。初めての自転車に興奮するも、まだまだ慣れていないため、スピードを出すことはおろか、足を地面から離して走ることもできなかった。
On our way to the park near my apartment, we stopped by a cycling shop to have his bike inspected. Even though he was excited about riding, he wasn’t able to get used to it in just one day. So, he mostly moved around slowly, pushing off the ground with his feet while riding.
人生始めての自転車じゃ、こんなものかと。少しずつ練習して、レベルアップしていくものかと思う。
I think it was a good start, and he’ll gradually get better at riding.
週末は、少しずつ練習に付き合って行ければと思う。
I’m going to support him on weekends as he practices.
