I enjoyed my winter vacation with my son by riding the Shinkansen.
We established our train-watching routine: watching the Shinkansen at Ueno Station and observing regular trains at Saitama-Shintoshin Station. Since today was sunny and warm, we decided to have lunch on the platform at Saitama-Shintoshin Station. Our lunch today was a huge rice ball we picked up at Omiya Station.
We sat on a platform, enjoying the rice ball while watching the trains pass by in front of us. Both of us were happy, though I felt a little embarrassed.
After watching the trains, we visited the Libe City Saitama Office. While chatting with the members, a family I hadn’t seen before came into the office. Our children played together, and I talked with their parents—they have three kids.
Even though raising children is tough, they said they’re happy. Seeing such a joyful family made me think that having many children must be fun. Of course, hosting children is expensive, and traveling might be difficult, but it still seems like a rewarding experience.
To be continued.
