Customer Success Managerについての深堀。
I dug deeper into the role of a Customer Success Manager (CSM).
インターネットやChat-GPTを使っていろいろ調べてみた。けど、書いてあることは皆ほとんど同じ。知りたいのは、具体的な業務内容。顧客の問題解決に能動的に対応していくはずなのに、リモートワークOKというのが、よくわからない。
I researched the role online and also used ChatGPT, but the information I found was mostly the same. What I really want to understand is the actual job description and responsibilities. I don’t quite get why working from home is acceptable for a position whose main purpose is to proactively solve customer problems.
細かい業務内容については、明日の面接で確認するとして、今日はIT業界で働く友人に実際のところを聞いてみた。
I plan to confirm the details during tomorrow’s interview and also hear from friends working in the IT industry. Based on their advice, I understand that the main goal of this role is to support customers’ success and align their vision with that of the creators.
リモートワークだし、顧客の問題解決のサポートで、同じ方向を向いた人たちとの仕事なので、あまり難しい仕事ではないのかもしれない。その一方で、達成感の少ないのでは、懸念されていた。
This alignment might explain why remote work is possible, and they suggested the job might not be too demanding. However, they also raised concerns that I might feel less of a sense of accomplishment in this role.
正直なところ、O&Mみたいな仕事は好きではないし、リモートワークにもあまり魅力を感じない。やはり、ゼロからモノを作り上げることにやりがいを感じる。あまり乗り気ではないけど、まずは面接で行けるところまでいって、どうするかを考えたい。
Honestly, I’m not drawn to jobs focused on operations and maintenance (O&M), and remote work doesn’t feel engaging to me. I tend to feel more fulfilled when I can build something tangible. Even though I’m not particularly interested in this role, I’ll give it a try for now and decide on my next steps based on how things progress.
