You can hear the voice recording for the diary.
I visited an exhibition for Doctors Without Borders held at the Marunouchi Building.
Although I’ve been learning about the conditions in their operational sites through their monthly letters, the exhibition made me truly realize how severe those conditions are.
I also had the chance to speak with someone who had been deployed to one of the sites. This was the main reason I attended, and I was glad to have the opportunity—it felt like I achieved my goal for the day.
The person I spoke with wasn’t a doctor and had joined the team from outside the medical field. He also mentioned that members earn a small income during their missions. I had assumed there was no compensation and that achieving FIRE would be a prerequisite for joining. Knowing this lowered the barrier for me to consider joining in the future.
I also noticed that far more people were visiting the exhibition than I had expected, which suggests that getting a position with the organization is highly competitive. From now on, I’ll need to focus on preparation and self-improvement. I’m committed to continually enhancing my skills.
To be continued.
