A Family Day of Trains, Ramen, and Fireworks

You can hear the voice recording for the diary.

Although I haven’t taken my son to watch trains at the station recently, we went today and enjoyed some train-watching together. Spending quality time with my family felt really refreshing.

Since dinner was going to be Japanese soba made by my father at his house, I initially thought I should keep lunch light. But instead, I took my son to a ramen shop at Saitama-Shintoshin Station that’s known for its delicious dipping noodles.

As expected, the shop was nearly empty, even during lunchtime on a three-day weekend. My son ordered dipping noodles, just as I suggested. I personally prefer their dipping noodles over their regular ramen, so I was happy too.

Later, we went to my parents’ house and enjoyed playing with sparklers and other fireworks with my sister’s family. Even though winter is approaching, we had fun in the cool evening weather.

It was my son’s first time trying fireworks. While he was scared at first, he seemed to enjoy them by the end.

To be continued.
