I watched a Kabuki performance.
２時間の短めの劇を友達に誘われていっしょに見てきた。
It was a traditional Japanese theater performance that lasted only two hours. My friend from Libe City invited me.
初めての歌舞伎鑑賞で、正直な感想はと言えば、小難しい言い回しが多くてよくわからなかった。正直、これなら英語会議のほうが、わかりやすい。
This was my first time watching Kabuki, and I found it a bit boring because they spoke in old Japanese, which I didn’t understand at all. I’m more used to English meetings.
今日のは解説がなかったので、解説付きのであれば、もっと楽しめるし、演目で使われる言葉も、もっと現代語に近いものもある、と友達は教えてくれた。
My friend suggested that other Kabuki performances might be more enjoyable if they were in modern Japanese or had more explanations. Today’s performance didn’t have any explanations.
ただ、自分一人では絶対に行かないので、いい体験になった。次はどうするかは考えるとして、体験できたことに感謝したい。また１つ見聞を広げることができた。
In any case, it was a good opportunity to experience Kabuki, as I would never have bought tickets myself. I’m thinking about watching another performance in the future and want to thank my friend for inviting me. This experience definitely broadened my horizons.
