Driving to My In-laws and Reflecting on a Lackluster Meet-up

You can hear the voice recording for the diary.

Since my wife and son are staying at her parents’ house for a few weeks, I drove them there in my GT-R. Because it was during the Obon period, the highways were extremely crowded, so I decided to take local roads all the way to my in-laws’ house.

In the afternoon, I attended a meet-up in my hometown—the first one I’ve been to there.

Although the purpose was for everyone to catch up on their side hustles, it ended up feeling more like a social gathering than a serious meeting. After attending, I realized that no one seemed as enthusiastic about earning more money as I am.

During the meet-up, the host tried to encourage everyone to start side hustles, but some people weren’t really paying attention and just kept chatting. While I enjoy socializing with others, networking alone doesn’t generate income.

I watched a YouTube video that talked about how gathering people together can sometimes lead to laziness, and today’s meet-up really reminded me of that. Especially since the event was held in the countryside, I felt this even more.

To be continued.
