First Business Trip with My Current Company

You can hear the voice recording for the diary.

I went on my first business trip with my current company to the Kansai region to meet the owner of some facilities we are interested in purchasing. I was accompanied by my younger boss.

Although the owner was very easy to talk to, we discovered that some information we had received beforehand was incorrect. However, my boss handled the discussion without getting flustered, and I was impressed by his negotiation skills. I don’t think I could do the same right now, but I’m not afraid to try and learn through trial and error.

Furthermore, today’s experience was something I couldn’t have had in my previous positions. I feel a mix of happiness and fear.

I want to learn as much as possible from working with him. Based on today’s experience, I need to develop the ability to negotiate calmly. When I can’t answer questions, I should act confidently and avoid the question.

It’s also a good strategy to empathize with their story to avoid disclosing too much information. Alternatively, I could ask a broker to obtain difficult information, such as price ranges or the possibility of price negotiation.

To be continued.
