You can hear the voice recording for the diary.
Today’s topic is reflection. These thoughts came to me after a discussion with a person staying in the Deluxe Suite Room; they were my own reflections, not directly addressed by anyone.
He was riding the cruise train with his wife to celebrate his retirement. After watching the night view at Obasute Station on the first day, we chatted in the lounge car.
He mentioned that he was celebrating his retirement and had recently bought a new car, a GT-R, which he was very excited about. Since I found this to be quite a coincidence, I shared that I had also bought the same type of car. However, this turned out to be a mistake.
His GT-R was the basic edition, which is more affordable, while mine is a tuned edition with a bit more horsepower. This made him somewhat moody.
I realized once again the importance of respecting seniors and not overshadowing their achievements. Working in foreign companies had made me forget some of these Japanese etiquettes, but today’s conversation reminded me of their importance.
To be continued.
