今日は、同僚が管理している北海道案件のサポートのため、北海道に出張である。しかも、新幹線はグリーン車。
I went to Hokkaido for my business trip to support my colleague’s project today. Luckily, I was able to secure a seat in the Green Car of the Shinkansen.
行楽シーズンで、新幹線普通車が空いてないためグリーン車を選択、予約してからメッチャ楽しみであった。普通車は何度も乗っているので感動はすでになくなってしまったけど、グリーン車はまた違う。
Since it’s tourist season and there were no vacant seats in the ordinary cars, I had to opt for the reserved ticket. I had been excited about this reservation, even though I’m already accustomed to riding in the ordinary seats on the Shinkansen. For me, as a train enthusiast, the Green Car experience was quite different.
落ち着いた車内で、乗っている客層も違っていて、いつもとはまた違う雰囲気を醸し出している。
The atmosphere in the Green Car was remarkably quiet and comfortable compared to the ordinary cars. It felt like the passengers were different altogether.
ただ、優雅な気分で乗れたのは仙台駅まで。前夜に降った大雪のおかげで仙台駅で乗り換える予定の列車が大幅遅延。２時間以上も仙台駅で待たされる羽目に。ここまで待たされたのは初めてかもしれない。
However, the luxurious mood came to an end at Sendai Station. Due to heavy snowfall, the Shinkansen I was supposed to transfer to was significantly delayed. I ended up waiting for over 2 hours at the station, which was a first for me.
今回は、いろんな意味でグリーン車を予約してよかったと思う。せっかくならば、新幹線の中で待たされたなら一番よかったけど、叶わず残念である。
Considering various factors, I was grateful for reserving the Green Car tickets. If I could make one additional request, it would be to wait for the delay recovery comfortably seated in the Green Car.
