Rebalancing My Stock Portfolio: Shifting Focus to High-Dividend ETFs

You can hear the voice recording for the diary.

I’ve decided to sell off all the stocks I’ve been investing in, those that aren’t high dividend-yielding or index funds, and were bought with the expectation of price increases.

This decision has been on my mind for quite some time, and I’ve finally taken action for two main reasons. Firstly, it simplifies my stock investment balance calculation, as I no longer have any stock losses after filing my tax return this year. Secondly, I took some time to contemplate my future plans, during my recent battle with COVID.

With the proceeds from selling off these stocks, I’ve already decided to invest in my favorite high-dividend ETFs. I don’t see any reason to keep the money idle in cash, so I’m eager to reinvest it in these ETFs.

Thanks to my prompt decision-making, the amount I’m investing in these ETFs will count towards the dividends paid out at the end of this month. I’m eagerly anticipating receiving dividends this month as well.

While I don’t expect the upcoming dividends to surpass the previous ones, given that they were exceptionally high last time, I’m confident that I can minimize any decrease in the dividend income.

To be continued.
