今日は、朝一に昨年に出前授業した中学校にお邪魔をして営業活動。昨年の出前授業のおかげで地権者交渉がうまくいったことを伝え、来年度も授業をしたいことをアピールしてきた。
I visited the school where we organized a session last year for business purposes first thing in the morning. I appreciated the opportunity as it facilitated negotiations with the landowners, and we are eager to organize the session again this year.
その後は、自宅に戻りながら、昨年末にお世話になった協力会社のところへ年始のご挨拶。せっかく昨年末に急なお願いにも関わらず調査をお願いしたものの、結果して、その調査結果は来年に繰り延べになったことを伝えてきた。また、次にお願いしたい仕事の相談も併せて実施。
On my way home, I also visited the subcontractor’s office to extend New Year’s greetings, as they had supported our project last year. We apologized for postponing the task until next year, which they graciously accepted. Additionally, we requested their support for another project.
夕方は、別案件でお世話になっている協力会社さんとの一献。飲みながら話をする中で、わたしがいま応募している転職先はいい評判を聞かない、と教えてくれた。
After the discussion, I went for drinks with another subcontractor who supports my colleague’s project. Over the meal and drinks, both of them advised against moving to the company I am currently applying to, citing its less-than-favorable reputation.
思いのほか、今の応募先を否定され、そこまで言ってくれるのにわたしも行きたいとは思わない。
Given their advice and reservations, I am no longer inclined to pursue a position at that company.
正直、わたしとしても、工事を実施するよりも、まだまだ開発がやりたい。０→１にする楽しさをいまのポジションで実感しているので、次の会社でも同じことをやって、もっと楽しさや苦労を味わいたい。
Frankly, I prefer project development over construction management. I find great enjoyment in leading projects from their inception, and I wish to continue in this role to experience the excitement of project development.
