Reconnecting with Local Stakeholders: Reflecting on a Business Trip Experience

You can hear the voice recording for the diary.

Today I’m on a business trip for the first time in a while, mainly for New Year’s greetings.

Although it may seem a bit late for the greetings, I used it as an opportunity to touch base with local stakeholders, despite feeling a bit under the weather. Thanks to the enjoyable conversations we had yesterday, I was able to carry out my tasks smoothly today.

In the evening, as is customary, I met with my friend’s teacher for dinner. Interestingly, he seemed unfazed after eating the same yakitori that had caused me food poisoning. It appears he may have built up some resistance from eating it multiple times.

Being in the city where my project is ongoing fills me with warm feelings. This time, particularly during dinner with the teacher and conversations with local stakeholders, I felt a strong sense of connection to the local culture. They inquired about our project’s progress and addressed me by name, making me feel truly integrated.

The thought of leaving this city if I were to quit my job is disappointing, but it’s a completely different scenario from my job change considerations.

To be continued.
